Did you see that movie? “Facing The Giants” Being in the midst of Giants can be terrifying. What are the Giants in your life? David faced Goliath. Moses faced Pharoah. I’ve faced death from an “incurable” disabling disease. What’s yours…..unpaid bills, health crisis, kids in rebellion?
Whatever your Giants are, you can rest and you need to learn to rest in the care of the Almighty. In Deuteronomy 1:29-31, it says, “Do Not be terrified; do not be afraid of them (your giants). The Lord your God who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the desert. There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.”
For me this brings comfort. Resting in God’s care. It’s so reassuring to know that He carries me. In Psalms it says, He carries His own, like a shepherd carries his lambs; close to His heart!!! I hope you can find comfort today, whatever your Giants is.
Father, I pray that today, we would know your comfort. Know that all the Giants we face You have already defeated!!! Give us eyes to see and ears to hear what the Holy Spirit says to us.
