I finished digging my beds to plant the soon to arrive asparagus crowns. Double digging is a real pain in the rear but what a “workout” I got. My trusty companion “Boomer” was out helping me while his sidekick “Lady” was crying her head off over some bunnies under the shed. She was so upset because she couldn’t get to them. I added some compost to the soil and dug and dug……I think tomorrow I’m going to feel the effects of a lazy winter….time to come out of hibernation! We have another 30 days or so to go before spring officially arrives in Zone 7, but I’ll take these 64 degree days in February any time.

There was a young fellow called Plato.
At gardening he was just great Oh!
He dug and he dug and he slew every slug,
So he got the biggest potato.
